Bulbophyllum is established by Aubert de Petit Thouars in 1822. It is one of the largest genus of the orchid family, more than 1000 species. The name "Bulbophyllum" derived from the Greek words (bolbo and phyllon), bolbo means "bulb" and phyllon means "leaf". They are centered in Tropical Asia and widespread in New Guinea, Australia, South America and Africa. Orchid growers are now interested in this genus because of the unusual forms and colors of the flowers.Get in and have a look for yourself in my gallery.
